Publishing Policy

Standards for Qualifying Scientific Monographs for Publication

1. Purpose and Scope of the Policy
The purpose of this publishing policy is to establish standards for qualifying academic monographs for publication at WSGE University of Applied Sciences in Józefów Publishing House, regardless of the payment of a publication fee and the amount of that fee. This policy aims to ensure the high scientific quality of publications and to uphold principles of integrity and transparency in the publishing process.

2. General Principles
a) Scientific Integrity: Scientific monographs must meet high standards of scientific integrity, including:
◦ Originality of research
◦ Methodological accuracy
◦ Reliability of presented results
b) Peer Review: Each monograph must undergo a peer review process by two independent reviewers from the relevant field of study who are not affiliated with the author of the monograph.
c) Compliance with Publishing Ethics: Monographs must comply with international ethical standards, including the publication ethics guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

3. Process of Qualifying Monographs for Publication
a) Submission: Authors submit their monographs to the publisher by completing a submission form and providing the full manuscript.
b) Preliminary Assessment: The editorial team conducts a preliminary assessment, checking the thematic alignment of the monograph with the publisher's profile and an initial evaluation of scientific quality.
c) Peer Review: After a positive preliminary assessment, the monograph is sent for peer review. Reviewers evaluate:
◦ Scientific quality
◦ Methodological accuracy
◦ Originality of research
◦ Structure and clarity of presentation
d) Editorial Decision: Based on the reviews, the editorial team makes a decision to:
◦ Accept the monograph for publication
◦ Reject the monograph
◦ Suggest revisions and resubmission

4. Publication Fees
a) Autonomy from fees: The decision to accept a monograph for publication is autonomous of the payment of the publication fee and its amount. The qualification of the monograph is based solely on its scientific value and compliance with the publishing policy.
b) Transparency of Fees: Any fees associated with publication are clearly defined and presented to authors before the publishing process begins.

5. Final Provisions
a) Policy Updates: This policy may be updated to align with changing scientific and publishing standards.
b) Reporting Irregularities: Authors and reviewers have the opportunity to report any irregularities or violations of publishing ethics to the editorial team.
c) Effective Date: This policy comes into effect on [date] and remains in force until revoked or updated.
