The aim of this article is to identify managerial approach to public administration, and in particular presented in the eighties and nineties of the twentieth century its current version known as the New Public Management (NPM). You will notice that the New Public Management has developed a number of countries, however, the reception can be seen in almost every European country, including and Poland. This means that the character is thus quite versatile, very international. The novelty of this management model is an adaptation of management methods and techniques used in the private sector to the conditions of management of public organizations. The author indicates, based on the current literature course of action NPM implemented in the public sector. In order to help reach its scheme of issues related to the New Public Management and an indication of the tools needed to apply such management encountered in the public sector.
