Moral leaders have been known to the human race from the dawn of
time. It was as early as ancient Greeks who in their homerics epics praised
the usefulness and wisdom of those who lived through their lives and knew
more than ordinary people. With time the authorities became “professionalized” while their functions became developed.
The issues of moral leadership are the ones of the man in journey, covering immeasurable distances, often regions he never visited. In case of
a man the wandering like that is the man himself or his life. They play also
an important role in the lives of local groups and communities.
The objective of this paper is the quest for an answer to a seemingly
simple question: What in this case are the moral leadership? Are they the
signposts which facilitate ramble through the individual or social life, or
are they the inflexible paragons, bearers of values which let individuals and
communities find themselves in the historic chaos?
